Vung Ro Oil Refinery Project to kick off in Phu Yen province

In the morning of September 9, Vung Ro Refinery and Petrochemical Plant – A large industrial project with  the latest in state-of-the-art technologies in the world has been officially broken ground.

The Project has a total investment of nearly VND 66,776 billion, constructed at Hoa Tam commune, Dong Hoa district, Phu Yen province, under the Hoa Tam – Phu Kinh Industrial Park, Phu Yen Southern Economic Zone. The investor of the project is Vung Ro Petroleum Limited Company.

 

The employable land area of the project is 538 ha, of which 404 ha for the plant and 134 ha for Bai Goc port (excluding an encroaching on the sea area). Besides, the project has been approved for using 500-1300 ha of water surface area.

 

The project aims to process and distribute refinery and petrochemical products. Besides, the project also aims to import and export, transport and store crude oil, petroleum and petrochemical products and carry on business of harbors and storages under property of the company.

 

The Project includes the oil refinery plant with a capacity of 8 million tons per year, of which gasoline RON 92 - 487.000 tons / year, RON 95 - 1.559.000 tons / year, Jet fuel - 325.000 tons / year, diesel - 2,295,000 tons / year and LPG - 90.000 tons / year…

 

Up to now, Investor has disbursed approximately $ 118 million, of which for the oversea zone is about $ 56 million. After this project and Nghi Son Refinery complex (starting construction on Oct. 2013) completing, in Vietnam there will be 3 modern oil refinery bases to meet the more and more increasing demand for energy during the process of industrialization and modernization of the country

 

When oficially operating, Vung Ro Refinery project will contribute to the State budget about $ 111 million per year and create the stable jobs for 1,300 employees
